''Bellis perennis'' (), the daisy, is a European species of the family (biology), family Asteraceae, often considered the archetypal species of the name daisy (other), daisy. Globularia
''Globularia'' is a genus of about 22 species of flowering plants in the family Plantaginaceae, native to central and southern Europe, Macaronesia, northwest Africa and southwest Asia. They are dense low evergreen mat-forming perennials or subshrubs, with leathery oval leaves 1–10 cm long. The flowers are produced in dense inflorescences ( capitula) held above the plant on a 1–30 cm tall stem; the capitula is 1–3 cm in diameter, with numerous tightly packed purple, violet, pink or white flowers. ''Globularia'' species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including ''Coleophora virgatella''. Several members of the genus, such as '' Globularia cordifolia'' and ''Globularia punctata'', are cultivated and sold for garden use. Under the old Cronquist system of plant classification, they were treated in their own family, Globulariaceae, but genetic evidence has shown that the genus belongs in the family Plantaginaceae. Daisy (Brand New Album)
''Daisy'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Brand New, released September 22, 2009 on Interscope. ''Daisy'' was co-produced by both the band and their longtime producer Mike Sapone. Brand New recorded the album in Sapone's studio in Bethpage, New York between 2008 and 2009. The band looked to channel their live performances, as well as the noise of bands such as Fugazi, Polvo, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus Lizard, in order to produce the raw and often chaotic sound of the album. Guitarist Vincent Accardi had a larger role in writing the album's lyrics, sharing the responsibility with frontman Jesse Lacey. The album leaked three weeks prior to its release, and the song " At the Bottom" was the only single released. ''Daisy'' received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised the band's continued progression, while fans were somewhat more divided, with drummer Brian Lane believing that they either seem to love it or hate it. Daisies (film)
''Daisies'' ( cs, Sedmikrásky) is a 1966 Czechoslovakian surrealist comedy-drama film written and directed by Věra Chytilová. Regarded as a milestone of the Czechoslovak New Wave movement, it follows two young women (Jitka Cerhová and Ivana Karbanová), both named Marie, who engage in strange pranks. ''Daisies'' also inverts the stereotypical ideas of women and redraws them to the heroines' advantage. The film is considered critical of authoritarianism, including communism and patriarchy, and it was banned from theaters or export in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. Plot The title sequence intersperses shots of a spinning flywheel with shots of airplanes strafing and bombing the ground. The first scene shows Marie I and Marie II sitting in bathing suits.
